In 2021, Children’s Hospital Colorado's President and CEO, Jena Hausmann, declared a State of Emergency in Colorado as suicide is a leading cause of death among Colorado youth ages 10-19 years old.

40% of teens in our state struggle with mental health challenges and less than 50% of these kids will ever receive ANY form of treatment.

We have seen a 64% increase in mental health visits from 2019 to 2021 and a 215% increase in suicide plans and attempts in our Emergency Department.
